Public/community toilets are being provided to families who do not have personal toilets due to lack of space and to people coming from outside/migrating from the village for various reasons. Pay and use system is also being implemented in some Gram Panchayats. So that, the cleanliness standard of public toilets is maintained for a sustainable period and maintenance and repair can be done from the amount received. Through this, every village will be helped to create a clean and beautiful environment in public places. Public toilets are approved keeping in mind the past experience with public toilets, the need for public toilets in the village, availability of electricity, water, maintenance and repair facilities, maintenance and repair cost facilities at the local place, selection of a convenient place for toilet use, guarantee by the Gram Panchayat that the said public toilet will remain in use, etc.
