Cultural Heritage:-
Palghar taluka is home to mainly Warli, Katkari, Malhar Koli, etc. tribal tribes. The tribal community has preserved its cultural heritage and Warli painting and Tarpa dance are the identity of their social life. Warli painting has been preserved since the primitive times when man lived in caves, i.e. for about 1100 years. In this painting, various customs of tribal belief as well as daily life events such as weddings, dances, various festivals, natural events are beautifully depicted. These paintings are made without using any kind of chemical colors but using natural materials such as clay, rice flour, vegetable colors and bamboo slat brushes. This art is a painting that sheds light on various aspects of the tribal lifestyle and this art is in great demand in India as well as abroad.
Historical background:-
The taluka has a golden historical heritage. Palghar is an important center in the 'Quit India' movement of 1942'. An uprising was held in Palghar taluka on 14 August 1942 to fight the British Empire. In this uprising, Kashinath Hari Pagdhare of Satpati, Govind Ganesh Thakur of Nandgaon, Ramchandra Bhimashankar Tiwari of Palghar, Ramchandra Mahadev Churi of Murbe, and Sukur Govind More of Shirgaon, five martyrs from Palghar taluka were martyred while fighting for freedom. A Hutatma Chowk has been built in Palghar taluka in memory of these martyrs. Also, when Gandhiji's Salt Satyagraha started in 1930, many activists from Wadrai to Satpati in Palghar taluka joined this Satyagraha. A Holi of foreign goods was performed at Satpati.

Kelva Beach, a famous tourist destination in Palghar, is very close to Mumbai and is a natural wonder. There is always a stream of tourists here. Shitla Devi in Kelva and Ashapura Devi in Edwan in Palghar taluka, as well as Mahaganpati Temple in Manor Nandgaon are conscious pilgrimage sites.
